# Can leaderboard points be lost or reset?

If you're climbing the leaderboard on [EarnLab](https://earnlab.com/), you might be wondering whether your hard-earned points are safe. Here's what you need to know.
## **Leaderboard Resets**
Yes, leaderboard points reset—but only when the leaderboard period ends:
**Daily Leaderboard:** Resets every 24 hours. Your points start fresh each day.
[**Monthly Leaderboard](https://earnlab.com/races):** Resets at the end of each calendar month. Everyone starts from zero when the new month begins.
This is normal and expected. Each reset gives all users a fair chance to compete for rewards in the new period.
## **Can I Lose Points During a Leaderboard Period?**
Under normal circumstances, no—your points won't decrease during an active leaderboard period. Points you earn by [completing offers](https://earnlab.com/tasks) and [opening boxes](https://earnlab.com/boxes) are added to your total and stay there until the period ends.
However, there are some exceptions:
**Chargebacks:** If an offer you completed gets reversed or charged back by the offerwall provider, the associated points may be removed from your leaderboard total.
**Terms of Service Violations:** If your account is flagged for violating EarnLab's [Terms of Service](https://earnlab.com/terms) or an offerwall's terms, points earned through fraudulent activity may be removed.
**Fraudulent Activity:** Any points earned through abuse, exploits, or cheating will be removed, and your account may face further consequences.
## **How to Protect Your Points**
* Complete offers legitimately and follow all instructions.
* Avoid using VPNs, multiple accounts, or any prohibited methods.
* Follow the Terms of Service of both EarnLab and offerwalls.
